November 7th, 2012

Guess what's going to happen on that day? The sun will rise in the east. The birds will be chirping. Many people will wake up and go about their normal routine. Women will still be free. Traffic will still be snarled. The world will still be a messed up place. All the issues prior to November 7th will still be issues not solved. Illegal aliens will still cross our borders. The drug cartels will still be in business. China will still hold our economic future in their hands. Al Gore will still be making money about climate change. Terrorists will still exist. Our soldiers will still be in Afghanistan and Iraq. Iran will still continue building their 'peaceful' nuclear program. North Korea will still be a bunch of deluded idiots. Pakistan will still hate India, and India will still hate Pakistan. Chavez will still be in power. Castro will still be alive (I think). My friends Rosemary and Mac will still be teachers. I will still be working in the oil field and writing books. Russia will still be Russia. Europe will still be Europe. And, Africa will still be Africa. There will be few things different on November 7th.

Depending on who wins the presidential election, there may be riots...and there may not be. There may be some weeping and then some snarling over the outcome. But, all in all, most things will still be the same. Now, they might get worse, regardless of who wins. But on November 7th, there won't be anything to be sad about. There won't be anything to keep you from being happy and grateful for what and who you have close to you. It will be a day most like any other.

On November 7th, I will be looking forward to Thanksgiving. It will be a time where I get to go see my mother-in-law and father-in-law and sit down at their table and enjoy the good company. It will be time to watch football after a good meal. It will be a time to reflect on the blessings I have been afforded.

If the person I support wins, I will not gloat. For who really knows what comes after November 7th but God? Who really knows what is going to happen, no matter who comes out on top? However, I know that the day after...things will still be as they are today; for me at least. It will be peaceful. It will be a day to go to work. It will be a day to come home. And soon, it will pass like any other.

Of course, I may die on November 7th. I have no guarantees that a personal tragedy will not occur in my life. I'm just saying that this particular day has the real possibility of being no different than any day previous.

Your world, your life, your freedoms, your liberties will not be ripped away from you on November 7th. Everyone on that day should take a step back, take a deep breath, and contemplate the direction in your life and no one else's. After all, you are responsible for you. Make a conscious decision, right now, that on November 7th you are going to be happy, content and even minded. Just for that one day.

November 8th, you ask? Well, that's a whole different kettle of fish. Now isn't it?
